Last Tuesday, Tanner's Close unveiled their new flag for all to see. As a charity, Lench's Trust values things that bring people closer together, so it was important to include that message in the flag designed by the residents of the scheme. The bridge along the top represents the Trust's motto "Building bridges in the community", has the writing "The royal town of Sutton Coldfield" inside it and also features the logo, motto and two Tudor roses on the bottom corners. The residents, staff and two visitors from Age UK all gathered together and enjoyed some delicious cake and refreshments before heading outside to see Jean-Luc, the CEO of the Trust raise the flag up the pole and to take flight for the first time. Staff, residents and visitors were happy to see it waving in the wind and representing what the Almshouse charity stands for; taking care of those most in need within Birmingham.
