Tanner's Close is known for the great food they serve for events and parties and last Friday was no different, Christmas lunch was served with a delicious twist. For the starter there was a choice of a creamy prawn cocktail or a serving of crispy potato wedges and for the main course we each had a platter of beef (which was extremely delicious and cooked by Marion herself!), ham, a sausage roll, quiche, salad and a pork pie. Residents quickly polished off their yummy deserts, which was a strawberry gateau. Rita and Marion's daughter, Laura kindly helped with the preparation, cooking, serving and tidying up for the day which lead to a smooth service and everyone getting each course on time.

Following the lunch, Marion announced the winners of the Christmas raffle, residents chose their gift from choices such as body & hair wash, a small hamper, a fold-able wooden chess board with pieces and more. Once all the residents had got their gift and sat back in their seat, the lovely Tanner's Close choir sang a selection of wonderful Christmas songs to finish off the day. Marion always puts a lot of effort into the functions she puts on for residents so we'd like to thanks her, Rita and Laura for another successful Christmas lunch!
