Tanner's Close and Lench's Close recently held their Macmillan Coffee Morning - an event both the residents and staff were looking forward to. Ever since 2020s government restrictions (and Covid) prevented any sort of social events, after over a year of this we are finally ready to get back into the swing of things and there is nothing better than to kick off our events again then with a Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Tanner's Close held their Coffee Morning on 22nd September and raised £172.10! As you might expect the residents ate plenty of cake and had a pleasant time socialising with one another. There was also a raffle on that offered a huge selection of prizes.

The winners of the raffle are as follows; Reggie and Laura won the 2 sets of cinema tickets. Dot, Lois and Jean won the chocolates; the his and hers watches won by Margo and Paul, fruit basket won by Lillian and finally Dot, won the wine. In continuing her win streak, Dot has also managed to guess the number of sweets in the jar.

Well done to all of the winners and a big thank you to Lynn and Rita for setting this up!

Lench's Close had their Coffee Morning on 24th September raising a huge £470. At this event, in addition to the usual coffee and cake a few other ideas were put into motion. Firstly, residents were greeted to a Wishing Well where they could donate to Macmillan whilst making a wish in return, this idea went down a treat!

Macmillan Coffee Morning at Lench's Close also had a Teddy bears picnic table! in return for a donation, residents could pick any bear off the picnic table and take it home with them. Many cuddly bears found a home that day.

Another big thank you to Maria and Shirley for setting up such a successful event.

Thank you all for taking part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning - due to an unforeseen event the William Lench Court Macmillan coffee morning will be postponed to a later date*
